I just came back from seeing Jurassic World, and it was so mind-bopping, I have to make a review, pro/con style.

Sorry, I have to post spoilers. I can't help myself!

Saying again, SPOILERS AHEAD!

Pros:

Bullet; Green I could tolerate all the characters pretty well. The one guy with the beard that really wanted the raptors to have a field day wasn't in the movie too much, so I didn't get a chance to get sick of him. :XD: Owen...proooobably a Gary Stu, but he didn't go out and single-handedly solve every problem--he just understood animals (and was good with a gun). I couldn't shake the feeling that Claire should be in a different line of work--one that doesn't involve dealing with people or animals. :P I liked that nerd, though; I agreed with his points in the beginning of the movie.

Bullet; Green The CGI was passable. This barely scores as a pro, but I think if the dinos were any more life-like, I'd have had a heart attack. O_o

Bullet; Green Kudos for accurately making humans unbelievably annoying to me. They make a monster dinosaur with all the perfect parts for the ultimate killing machine just for wow factor, and they think they could control it! It's smarter than...pretty much every predator the natural world has, it has camouflaging abilities, longer arms than a T-Rex, raptor parts so it can talk to our Raptor Squad, and--and--!!! You know what, the whole idea of bringing this park back to life was a stupid idea...and I think humans would totally do that today if they could.

Bullet; Green The swearing was minimal. One S-bomb, a D-word, the H-word, two 'SOB's, and someone takes Jesus' name in vain. That sounds like a lot, but that movie was like, two hours long, and the words were spread out. I'm sure it'll be cleaned up enough on TV. ^^;

Bullet; Green It got me geeking out over the dinos. I loved when I could anticipate where the movie was going, and which dino they were gonna bring out. When the T-Rex partnered up with Blue to bring Indominus down, haha, that was amazing! I saw her walk on the Rex's back and not even try to attack! It was a real team-up! And I jumped up and down in my seat when I saw the Rex and the Raptor push the Indominus closer to the water--SO seeing where that was going! Also, when the kids wandered into the old stomping grounds (aka the main set from the first movie) and found the night-vision goggle and the old jeep, I just ate that up. I love well-placed easter eggs.

Bullet; Green It didn't start out scary. That was my problem with the first movie. I went to see it re-released in theaters, and, well...I have dino nightmares from all the times I watched it as a kid; hearing those familiar ominous tunes in the intro, and seeing the Raptor attacking and pulling that one guy in...kinda made me hyperventilate a bit. Jurassic World did not do that to me, and I was grateful for that.

Cons:

Bullet; Red When I wasn't geeking, I was panicking. You can consider that a pro if you want, but I'm a little more sensitive. The first time Indominus attacked that squad of officers made me a little edgy. What really got me, though, was when the Indominus got the Raptor Squad to (temporarily) turn on the heroes and attack them. It was the first time I was literally scared stiff. Luckily, I was able to eventually get a grip on things again...Good thing the Squad sided with us again. I actually felt bad that three of them died protecting us. :hmm: Of course, I did know it was gonna be scary when I walked into the theater.

Bullet; Red I could have done without the gruesome factor. Like the clawed-out tracking device, the ripping-apart of officers, biting that one guy's arm...Yeah, that's all I'll mention. I never had to look away in a theater movie before; well, there's a first time for everything. >_<

Bullet; Red The T-Rex didn't sound like it did in the first movie. Okay, this one's completely personal. :XD: I bet they were probably trying to make it sound more realistic, but I was really looking forward to that classic roar.

Bullet; Red That butt-ugly fusion pterodactyl.

Bullet; Red It was so incredibly long! The average human's attention span is as small as a goldfish, yet they still come out with these movies that seem like they last forever. And the action didn't divert my attention away from that. It was like...a long movie that happened to be scary. :O_o: I got a cramp in my leg sitting for so long...

Bullet; Red Raptor-phobia: still not cured. Scaredy Tard

*SPOILERS OVER*

It took a while to calm down, but now that my heart rate's decreased, I can look back on the movie and give it...Two and a half stars. The theater was really cold, but that's an unrelated con. :XD:

If you like suspenseful movies with a lot of action and scares (and don't have a dinosaur phobia), go on and watch this movie. I wouldn't recommend young kids seeing it, though. Waaaay too intense.

And whoever now owns the company responsible for recreating the park (in the movie world, that is), get ready to 'spare no expense'--in court. :dead:

Hello, DeviantArt users! :wave: So, I'm Katie. A little about me: Above anything, I'm a devout Christian. :) I'm very strong in my beliefs, and won't compromise them for anything. But I'll still respect whatever beliefs you have. (So please respect mine.)

I'm an all-time die-hard superhero fan, my favorite being the whole Legion of Superheroes. That's DC; in Marvel, I'm a fan of the Avengers and Captain America! :flagus: I've watched a lot of DC and Marvel's cartoons, but not all of 'em. I'm always ready to chat about them whenever.

I'd like to say I'm a big TV watcher, but I'm so dang picky, I can never find anything to watch. Most of my favorite shows are cancelled by now. I like watching older stuff though, like from the 90s, '00s, and a few in the 80s. I'm all about reminiscing about childhood shows. :aww:

I do a lot of drawing in my spare time, but mostly I'm a scientist at heart. Very left-brained. Quite a big nerd too. :nerd: I'm hoping to dress up in a costume and go to Comic Con someday!
The best way to bring out my geekiness is mentioning TRON!! I'm a fanatic of anything TRON! :la: 1982, Legacy, and Uprising! Loving techno music comes with my nerdiness and love of Tron. ...I'm not crushing on Tron. :blush:

Enjoy looking at my page! Or whatever...^^;

Cartoon Crushes-->

Optimus Prime:I think Optimus is a role model for both Autobots and humans; I especially look up to him. When it comes to real life--he's what I'm looking for.:blushes: (I could say a ton more, but not here. Maybe somewhere else. Cuz I fell hard for this Autobot.)

Doktor Frogg: League of Super Evil? Ring a bell? Eh. This guy is the biggest dork and weirdest mad scientist type I've ever seen...and the cutest. >w< He and I do have a lot in common (smart, misunderstood, scared most of the time, always getting hurt). And this is the 2nd time crushing on him! :aww:

Forge: Marvel guy. X-man. Not the comics so much as the cartoons. He's really cute in X-Men Evolution; Wolverine and the X-Men...not as good of a redesign. But I like how they set a personality for him (and made him strictly technological) in each concept. Great friends, we would be. :D

Living Laser: Only the one from Iron Man: Armored Adventures version--the others make me upset. :bleh: I really appreciate a dimensional character like Arthur, with real problems, and especially that he learned to change his ways. I see he's a pretty genuine guy. :) (Plus, his Brooklyn accent is super cute. :giggle:)

I have more than that, but these are all I'm confident enough to share on my page. :blush:
